Who the site is for

Fish for Silver Singles is for people over 50 who'd rather meet someone through what they already love doing: fishing, walking, gardening, sailing, birdwatching, or simply being outside whatever the weather is up to. Most of our readers are in the UK, and a smaller number in Ireland.

The name has a fishing joke in it, but you don't need to know one end of a rod from the other. If your idea of a good day ends in muddy boots and a cup of tea, you'll fit in.

It suits you if you're 50 or over, you'd like to meet someone who enjoys the outdoors, and you're happy to take things at your own pace. It may not suit you if you want only members who live near you (profiles come from across a shared network), or you want every profile checked before you see it (written profiles aren't).

Who runs it

The site and its members' area are run by High Intent Media Inc, a Delaware corporation (file no. 10670515), registered office 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, USA. The domain has been registered since July 2020; the site was rebuilt in October 2026 with new, rewritten guides.

Fish for Silver Singles is not connected to, endorsed by or part of any other dating site with a similar name.

What the site does, and what it doesn't

Fish for Silver Singles is a subscription dating site. Signing up, making a profile and browsing are free. Reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership, priced in US dollars, which renews automatically until you turn it off in Settings > Billing. You must be 18 or over to join.

The network, plainly

Fish for Silver Singles shares one member database with partner sites in the same network. That means members who joined through those sites can see your profile and message you, and you can see and message them. Each profile shows which site its owner joined through. Memberships are paid for in the members' area, and your statement shows the billing name displayed at checkout, which may be a network name rather than ours.

We say this up front because it matters. It's covered in more detail on how the site works.

How we write and check our guides

Everything on this website is written for people first, by the Fish for Silver Singles editorial team. A few rules we stick to:

  • Facts come from the source. Rod licence rules come from GOV.UK and nidirect, fraud reporting from the police and official services, and so on. Where a guide relies on an outside fact, the source is listed at the bottom of the page.
  • No invented people. No made-up success stories, quotes, reviews or member numbers. Example profiles and messages are clearly labelled as examples.
  • No paid mentions. Clubs, groups and places appear because they're useful, not because anyone paid.
  • Honest about the product. We say what the site does and doesn't do, including what isn't checked. See dating safely over 50.
  • Dated. Each page shows when it was last updated, and we re-check facts that change, such as reporting lines and licence rules.

Good places to start are our guides to outdoor first dates and fishing and walking clubs.

Corrections and contact

If you spot something out of date or wrong, tell us through the members' help centre and include the page address. Account, billing and log-in questions go to the same place; our log-in help page explains the quickest route. The short version of everything on this page is on key facts.

Questions people ask

Is Fish for Silver Singles part of a bigger dating brand?

No. It is run by High Intent Media Inc and has no connection to other sites with similar names. It does share one member database with partner sites in its own network, so members of those sites can see your profile and message you, and you can see theirs.

Who writes the guides?

They are written and checked in-house by the site's editorial team. We don't credit guides to named experts, we don't take payment to mention clubs, places or products, and outside facts such as fishing rules or fraud reporting lines come from official sources listed on each page.

How do I report a mistake?

Contact the members' help centre, say which page it is and what's wrong, and include a link to a better source if you have one. We check the correction against the official source and update the page, and the date at the top changes when we do.

Is Fish for Silver Singles a UK company?

No. The site is aimed mainly at readers in the UK, but it is run by High Intent Media Inc, a Delaware corporation with its registered office in Lewes, Delaware, USA. That's also why memberships are priced in US dollars, and why the member terms are governed by Delaware law.
